This year's annual summer conference will be held on Saturday and Sunday 15-16th June in the west Cork area. The theme will be ‘Trees in Irish land use-past and future’. The venue will be the Celtic Ross Hotel, Rosscarbery, Co Cork www.celticrosshotel.com Church Road Rosscarbery Cork +353 23 884 8722.
This is an excellent venue on a seafront location on the outskirts of the lovely village Rosscarbery. We have arranged with the hotel to reserve a number of rooms for attendees for the Friday and Saturday night at a special conference rate of €145 ( 2nts B&B plus conference dinner on Saturday night) per person. Single room supplement €20 and upgrade to a bay view room for €20 . The conference dinner will be in the Celtic Ross Hotel. There are a number of B&Bs in the area as well. Please book your own accommodation directly with the hotel and pay yourselves. We would advise you to book as soon as possible and quote THE AGRICULTURAL HISTORY SOCIETY OF IRELAND when you book (we dealt with Vipul email@example.com ).
The overall format will be:-
Friday 14th June
Nothing formal arranged but people may wish to arrive and meet up.
Saturday 15th June
Morning: A series of talks on the conference theme -venue, the Tom Barry Room, the hotel. Lunch at the hotel. Final programme will be circulated later.
Afternoon: A most interesting field visit programme in the area. Led by local DAFM Forestry Officer, Eugene Curran.
Evening. Dinner in the conference hotel.
Sunday 16th June
Local interest programme. To be announced. Disperse in the afternoon.
